"Today, the state of emergency is ending, the law on health was simultaneously published, which enables the government to introduce anti-epidemic restrictions ... The government agreed that the COVID-19 pandemic poses a real danger to the health of citizens, and decided to introduce the BSEC," he quotes TASS Bulgarian Health Minister Kiril Ananiev.

He noted that due to the lack of effective methods of treatment and immune prophylaxis of the virus, it is necessary to maintain anti-epidemic measures.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Health added that from June 5, it is planned to resume the Bulgarian football championship, as well as the training of national teams.

“At the moment, introduction of additional restrictions for citizens is not planned ... The quarantine 14-day regime for all arriving in Bulgaria is still preserved,” Ananiev said.

Earlier, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov announced the intention of the country's authorities to lift the state of emergency imposed on March 13 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
