46 people have tested positive for Covid-19 since May 1 in Lannion. This new outbreak is believed to originate from a patient referred to a geriatric ward, while she was a carrier of the disease.

The foci of coronavirus contamination have not yet been extinguished. We even continue to discover them everywhere in France, including in the green zones, that is to say in the departments least infected by the epidemic. In Lannion, in the Cotés-d'Armor, 46 people have tested positive since the beginning of May. This new chain of contamination is believed to originate from a patient in a geriatric ward, who was not diagnosed immediately despite the tests performed.

"This woman was admitted to the Covid unit with suspected contamination, but after having been tested twice with a negative result, she was referred to geriatric medicine", reports the microphone to Europe 1 Pascal Lasbleiz, nurse and CGT staff representative. "Having been tested negative, she was free to move, it was during this period that she was able to contaminate twenty agents and twenty patients with whom she was in contact."

By the time this woman was finally diagnosed, some of the people she had encountered had already been able to leave the hospital. "Before the contamination was revealed in the department, some patients were able to be sent back to their ephad. These patients were identified and tested to limit the risk of the epidemic spreading," said Pascal Lasbleiz, however.
