The investigation by the Carabinieri of the Velletri Company and Ariccia Station revealed that dozens of people had turned to the group for usurious loans to survive their economic difficulties and to meet their daily needs. Interest rates also reached 240% per year and for the 'believed recovery' the group would have resorted to threats, assaults for extortion and even sexual violence.
