One of the main newspapers in Mallorca, the Ultima Hora newspaper , has just denounced the new digital medium sponsored by Podemos - called La Ultima Hora! - for usurping the brand, a headline that the Balearic newspaper has exploited for 127 years both in its print edition and, since 1999, on its general information website.

In fact, the Mallorcan newspaper, which enjoys great popularity in the Balearic Islands, came to the newsstands in its original editions with that name on its dot, La Última Hora , and is still colloquially known by this name by many today. island citizens.

The media has publicly announced that it has initiated "the pertinent legal actions" so that the website created by Pablo Iglesias' environment "immediately ceases its activity." Accuses him of brand theft and unfair competition .

At the moment they have already sent a request to the administrator of the website related to Podemos, Dina Bousselham -who was an assistant to Iglesias-, to desist as soon as possible from the use of the brand. From the editor of the Balearic newspaper they assure that it is a civil action aimed at solving the problem peacefully.

Rectification for "false and torticera" news

However, the newspaper has requested information in parallel from the Central Technological Research Brigade and the National Institute of Cybersecurity in case he later was forced to report the case to the National Police for infringement of intellectual and industrial property rights and to claim the relevant compensation.

The Balearic newspaper's complaint comes a few days after Bousselham and the leaders of Podemos announced and cheered on the launch of its website, and after the Mallorcan newspaper itself had verified the evident confusion of brands produced by the name chosen by the editors of the podemita environment .

And, as the Palma-based newspaper has reported, the confusion is so evident that they have received a request in their offices to rectify information that should be sent to La Ultima Hora! and not to them.

Specifically, it was an action to rectify information classified as "false and tortuous" about the well-known television journalist Ana Rosa Quintana , whom the Bousselham website accused of turning her program into a "hoax factory".
