During Wednesday's daily press meeting with the Public Health Authority, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell presented the latest figures on the number of deaths due to the corona virus.

- The situation remains as before. Low numbers after the weekends, and during Tuesday we again got higher numbers that came in, he says.

"A clear trend"

Anders Tegnell says that the curve of the number of intensive care cases gives the best understanding of what the spread of infections looks like:

- There is no time lag between the cases, and there we see a clear trend that it is slowly but surely going down.

Could have been like Stockholm

Västra Götaland has been highlighted as the region where the Public Health Authority has considered whether the spread of infection could be as great as in Stockholm:

- But even here, the situation has stabilized quite properly and a lot of staff are being tried, and that is very good, explains Anders Tegnell.

A slight increase

In Jämtland and Härjedalen, the number of coronary-related cases has increased.

- These are pretty small numbers, but things are going up a little closer, says Tegnell.

One of the most affected regions outside Stockholm is Sörmland:

- There you see a downward trend.

Don't want to make a decision yet

As yet, there have been no guidelines on what applies to domestic travel this summer.

- We will make a reconciliation in May to return to a reasonable level of national travel, says Anders Tegnell when SVT asks the question.

He thinks that a decision has not yet been made:

- We realize that we need to give a clear picture for the summer, but we want to make the decision as close to the summer as possible.
