According to F1 reporter Philip Horton, Valtteri Bottas could be an option to replace the outgoing Sebastian Vettel at the end of this season in Ferrari’s formula.

- The transfer of Bottas to Ferrari would take an important resource away from the main competitor.
Ferrari’s knowledgeable Italian journalist Leo Turrini also hints in his blog that “Valterino” Bottas ’name has been put on the list in the 2021 driver speculation in Maranello.

Instead of Bottas, Renault's Daniel Ricciardo, McLaren's Carlos Sainz Jr. and Alfa Romeo's Antonio Giovinazzi have emerged as the biggest favorites in the experts' betting.

Bottas will be driving in the Mercedes stable for the fourth year. The 30-year-old from Nastola has been the second driver of world champion Lewis Hamilton from year to year, but has also won seven races.
Bottas' contract is on hold at the end of the 2020 season.
