French Muslims suffer from running out of places designated for burying their dead in the country's cemeteries, especially with the increase in the Corona virus victims from Muslims and the impossibility of transporting the bodies to their countries of origin.

"In normal cases, Muslims choose to bury their dead here or abroad, but this is not possible with the outbreak of corona," Abdul Samad Akrash, president of the Islamic "Tahara" association said in an interview with Anadolu Agency.

The head of the French Council for Islamic Religion, Mohammed al-Musawi, said that "about 80% of the deceased were buried in their normal countries." Towards the qiblah, except for a short period.

Urash pointed to the depletion of places designated for burial of Muslims in French cemeteries, stressing the need to solve this problem quickly.

He added, "Because the Muslims are buried, hundreds of bodies are kept either in refrigerators to save the dead or morgues."

He continued, "With the closing of the non-European Union member states, the situation is getting worse, as it is not possible to transfer the dead Muslims abroad, except for the Turkish dead."

Despite the closure of its borders due to the consequences of Corona, Turkey permits its citizens residing abroad to receive treatment or to bury the dead of them.

Previously, the French Islamic Council called on President Emmanuel Macron to intervene to solve this problem.

According to the data of the council, the French authorities have allocated about 100 graves to Muslims in 300 cemeteries throughout the country.
