According to the Izvestia newspaper, citing the traffic police website, the total number of fatalities in road crashes decreased by 23.3%.

According to the inspection, in April 2020, there were 6,250 accidents in which 768 people died and 7,850 people were injured (while in April 2019, there were 11,037 accidents in which 1,001 died and 13,704 were injured).

It is noted that Chechnya became the leader in the accident reduction dynamics (88%), where there was one accident with one injured person, followed by Moscow with a decrease of 66% and Perm Territory, where the accident rate decreased by 65.2%.

The accident rate in the Tomsk and Ulyanovsk regions, the Republics of Komi and Karelia, the Trans-Baikal Territory and Khakassia decreased within 15–19%.
