Being a church attendant is an honorable occupation in sacred contexts. In the past, the title was even placed on the headstones.
Since the role assumes that you are trusted, it becomes almost automatic that the assignment goes to older parishioners.
But nowadays everything is put to an end and neither the church's world goes unaffected by this. In Frösö church, Sunday's Noel Gharibeh, age 16, and Isaac Esseen, age 17, served as church attendants.
