The testimonies of medical team members and officials in Egypt about the increase in the number of new Coronavirus infections painted a bleak picture of the health situation, amid fears of worsening conditions, with the government insisting on holding the responsibility to the citizens.

The death of the former Director of Preventive Medicine in the Health Department in Minya al-Qamh in Sharkia Governorate represented the ninth case of deaths among doctors due to the Corona virus, which prompted many doctors to warn through the communication sites of the worsening conditions, especially with the increasing number of injured in isolation hospitals.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced that 346 new injuries had been registered, in addition to 8 new deaths, bringing the number of injured to 9,746 cases, including 2,172 cases that had been cured and discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, and 533 deaths.

Medical staff complaints

At Sheikh Zayed Specialist Hospital in Sheikh Zayed City in Giza Governorate, workers organized a protest after the increasing number of injuries among them, and the administration refused to conduct analyzes for them, threatening them to bring national security and arrest them.

And one of the workers - who preferred not to be named - revealed that "there is a widespread absence of medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and administrators due to the spread of the Corona virus," noting that there are "confirmed cases of the virus among the administrators who have reached six cases."

He pointed out in his talk to Al-Jazeera Net that six cases were booked in Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Duwaika (Downtown Cairo), while the current director Ahmed Hajras refuses to perform the necessary checks for workers and administrators, even though one of them was injured and his entire family, while they demanded the rest to stone themselves in the house for 14 days .

He pointed out that isolation in the home alone is not enough, and threatens to transmit infection in the event of positive infections with the Corona virus, so most doctors and nurses are absent from attendance, especially after the catheters also infected with the virus.

Government warnings

Since the beginning of May this year, the number of cases of corona infection among citizens has jumped to nearly five hundred cases per day, before retreating back to three hundred, which the Ministry of Health attributed to its expansion in conducting a virus detection test, and the failure of citizens to take preventive measures.

Egypt recorded the first thousand injuries after 51 days, while the second millennium was completed after eight days, the third and fourth millennia after six days each, and the fifth millennium after four days and the sixth, and the seventh millennium was completed after three days, and the eight thousand in less than three days, And the ninth millennium in just two days.

In press statements, sources at the Ministry of Health revealed that Egypt has entered the third stage of the spread of the Corona virus, and that the ministry is currently working on not moving to the fourth stage of the virus, by expanding the examination and increasing the number of analyzes necessary for those suspected of being infected.

According to the Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, the third stage of the spread of the Coruna virus is the stage of the escalation and spread of the virus in a large and unexpected way in the country, describing it as a dangerous stage.

The seriousness of the third stage of the spread of the Corona virus after its registration of approximately 500 cases per day is the state's inability to track or control contacts as a result of the large number of infections, according to previous statements of the official spokesman for the Council of Ministers.

For her part, Health Minister Hala Zayed criticized the declining interest of citizens in the preventive measures to protect against the Corona virus, saying that "the citizen must adhere to the precautionary measures set by the state, and there are people who have not responded to this."

She pointed out in TV statements that the increase in the number of injuries is stressing the health sector and is reflected in the economy, noting that the increase in numbers is the responsibility of the citizen, and the state has provided everything, adding that "the Egyptian health system is one of the strongest health systems in the world that has responded to the procedures to confront Corona" .

The fruits of neglect

For his part, the head of the Health Committee of the Egyptian Shura Council, Abdel-Ghaffar Salihin, said, "The health system is divided into educational hospitals, treatment institutions and health insurance, and hospitals of the Ministry of Health, which are the most suffering from deterioration, poor provision, poor management, scarcity of budget and resources, and lacks the axioms of medicine. Preventive and a center for the transmission and outbreak of diseases.

In his talk to Al-Jazeera Net, Salihin emphasized that this reality is getting worse under a system that is not one of his health priorities and is only good at "distortion and clipping", and ignores the jurisprudence of achievement and facing reality.

He added that "Egypt did not apply isolation or complete closure because its stolen economy cannot tolerate, and the system has wagered on time, changing weather conditions and the summer heat, or on the world discovering a cure or vaccine."

He referred to several countries that began to reap the benefits of seriousness and the readiness of the health system to deal with such strikes, although there was a large price that had been paid, but their health and economic systems were not subject to collapse.

He continued, "At this time, Egypt begins reaping the results of negligence and idleness, wasting resources, mismanagement, not extending the matter to its people, assuming the beneficiaries, and reversing the priorities."
