The 70th Fifa Congress, originally scheduled for Addis Ababa, will finally be held virtually "online" on September 18, the global football governing body announced on Tuesday.

In early March, Fifa announced that the congress, scheduled for June 5, was held in the Ethiopian capital, but postponed to September 18, 2020 due to the coronavirus crisis.

Fifa announced on Tuesday that the congress would be held "online on September 18". It should be preceded by a meeting of the Council, the executive body of the body, also online.

Before that, a meeting of the same Council, scheduled for March 20 but which had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, must be rescheduled in June-July and be held by videoconference.

The body also announced the new dates for several international tournaments, "subject to developments": the U-20 Women's World Cup will be held in Costa Rica and Panama from January 20 to February 6, 2021, maintaining the initial eligibility criteria; the U-17 Women's World Cup is scheduled in India from February 17 to March 7, 2021 and the Futsal World Cup in Lithuania from September 12 to October 3, 2021.
