While we were confined, the animals were able to regain possession of the forests. So if you have the idea to go for a walk between the trees this weekend, be careful where you set foot.

INTERVIEW

The song of birds, the rustling of the wind in the trees ... After two months of confinement, you may have dreamed of walking in the forest to stretch your legs and take a deep breath of fresh air. It is now possible since Monday, and this is precisely what worries the National Office of Forests (ONF). Because virgin of any human presence, the French forests were reinvested en masse by the animals.

The birds were able to settle on deserted paths

"Animal species, including birds, took advantage of our absence to make their nest, especially in the ground", explains to the microphone of Europe 1 Pierre Édouard Guillain, director of the ONF Île-de-France. "The risk is that these birds have settled on deserted paths, and that they come to disturb them." This is why it is advisable to go to the forests in silence, to keep your pet on a leash, and not to leave the trails. And even if all these instructions are followed, you should always look where you set foot.

Also pay attention to the beach

Precautions that also apply to those who enjoy walks on the sand or pebbles, since certain species, such as the Ringed Plover (a bird), lay directly in the ground. Not to mention that their eggs sometimes have the color of sand.
