The big moose walk in 2020 ended yesterday, Sunday. This year SVT had mounted, among other things, even more cameras that caught not only bathed rivers, but also other animals - including the notoriously shy wolverine. This year's edition of The Great Elk Walk, which started on Easter, has engaged many viewers - a total of over 10 million starts on SVT Play. And it has become the same viewing success as last year.

- This year's moose walk has been very nice, partly in the times of corona when people sit at home. We started much earlier than expected, which in turn did not deliver any moose, says Johan Erhag with a laugh. But I think it was important that we got started then, many people have appreciated it.

"Incredible commitment"

How else has the response been from the viewers?

- It has been unbelievably nice, there have been an incredible number of emails and questions on eg Facebook. It has been an incredible commitment, a lot of love and then hopefully we have been able to answer a lot of questions that the viewers had, says Johan Erhag.

Back next year

There will also be a "The Great Elk Walk" 3.0. For next year SVT will return to Kullberg where the moose wandered and swam in the same place over the Ångerman River since the Stone Age to get to the summer's rich pastures.

How are you going to make it even better?

- We have to deal with the viewers who have come up with ideas, views and improvements. So we get to sit down and split what we have and what we can do and try to see what we can improve.

What have been the views?

- I think we have to help those viewers who do not have access to the duo app and those who do not have access to SVT Play as easily as many others have. It's also about graphics, it's about explaining a little more to more viewers, says Johan Erhag.
