The first case of coronary infection in Sweden was discovered in Jönköping on January 31. Then it was about a young woman who was in Wuhan in China and infected there. After treatment, she could be explained well.

Since then, almost 1,000 people have been diagnosed with the infection in Jönköping County, then it is about people who have been tested positive by the health care system. The number who have been infected by corona in the county is many more, but they have not been tested or need hospital care.

On Monday, there are 68 coronary patients being cared for at the county's three hospitals, 17 of which are being cared for in the intensive care unit.

Cases per 100,000 inhabitants

According to the public health authority, in Jönköping County, there are 274.5 cases of illness per 100,000 inhabitants. This can be compared to Stockholm which has 404 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and Kronoberg which has 245 cases. Kalmar, Blekinge Halland and Skåne all have fewer than 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Footnote: In mid-March, the Jönköping County Region began doing its own analyzes of the samples taken for coronavirus, 5615 people have so far been tested.
