For a few months now, the company that produces the film is looking for people who can play a Zlatan as a child and young man respectively. Hundreds have reported interest.
SVT News Skåne was present when some of these were called to audition in the Södra Sofielund district in Malmö on Thursday.
In addition to an interview, the selection process also includes playing an improvised stage. Some of those who have applied for the roles have previous actor experience, but most have not.
The film is directed by Jens Sjögren. Recordings start in September and will take place in different parts of Malmö and in the Netherlands.
By last May it should be clear who will play Zlatan on the canvas. Then other roles are filled.
The film will premiere at Swedish cinemas next fall.
