In March, the government decided to allocate SEK 500 million to compensate the sports movement as a result of the corona pandemic - money that the Sports Federation will distribute already to midsummer.

By Friday, the application must be submitted but despite this, so far, few associations in the county have applied for the support.

"We have 360 sports associations, but only about 20 have applied and I think it's too bad," says Patric Nilsson, RF Sports Manager RF SISU Blekinge.

Must report lost revenue

To receive compensation, the associations must be able to show that they lost revenue due to the corona crisis - for example due to canceled events.

- You have to be able to prove that you lost this money and show, for example, what similar events generated last year, says Patric Nilsson.

RF SISU is now calling on the sports associations in Blekinge to submit the application before the time has expired.

- Basically every other bleking is involved in sports and it is an important part of everyday life so we need to ensure that the association life and the opportunity for sport and social community remain. That is why it is extremely important that the associations take this opportunity to receive financial support for the damage that has been caused by the corona pandemic, says Patric Nilsson.
