The American actor Jerry Stiller, known in particular for the series "Seinfeld", died of natural death at the age of 92 years, announced on Monday his son, actor Ben Stiller.

Jerry Stiller and his wife Anne Meara performed on stage on Broadway and on television in the 1960s, writing and performing comedy sketches.

Jerry Stiller is best known in the United States for his role in the humorous television series "Seinfeld", where he played Frank, the irascible father of George Costanza, a role which earned him an Emmy Award nomination in 1997.

He starred in the sitcom "The King of Queens" and appeared alongside his son Ben in the movies "Zoolander".

"I am sad to report that my father, Jerry Stiller, died of natural causes," said Ben Stiller in a tweet. "He was a very good great-grandfather and grandfather, and Anne's most devoted husband for about 62 years." "We will miss him very much. I love you dad," he added.
