At the beginning of last week, Ljunghäll notified 200 of its 530 employees. After negotiations with the trade unions IF Metall and the Union, it is now clear that 140 people will lose their jobs.

The metal union succeeded in negotiating the number of redundancies among the workshop workers to 115.

"When you get down to this level it feels okay, we know that you have to do something for the survival of the company," says Eva Kindstrand, president of the workshop club.

"Is sad"

How is the atmosphere in the workplace?

- It is printed, many hanging heads. We are still on short-term leave since the end of March so many are not here, there will be a lot of phone calls. You are sad and need to talk about what is happening, says Eva Kindstrand, who has worked at Ljunghäll for 22 years.

Does this look like something you've experienced before?

- Both yes and no. During the 08/09 crisis, 265 people were notified. But it was a recession that knew. Now everything is uncertain about how it will be, at best it can go up again already this fall.

25 officials

In addition to the 115 workshop workers, 25 employees are getting rid of their jobs.

"It's not fun, but it's understandable in the situation the company is in," says James Mattson, from the Union.
