Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, announced on Sunday that the confinement was extended at least until June 1. Stores and elementary schools could reopen from this date "at the earliest," according to Boris Johnson. 

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Sunday that the containment of the new coronavirus will be extended until June 1, when he hopes to be able to gradually reopen stores and elementary schools.

"Although we have made progress in meeting at least some of the conditions I have set, we have not fulfilled them all. So this is not the time this week to end containment" decreed in late March said Boris Johnson who said he was aiming to reopen stores and elementary schools "as early as early June", and some bars and restaurants in early July. He also announced his intention to soon establish "a quarantine for people who enter this country by plane".
