  • De-escalation Phase 1: What can and cannot be done?

The Phase 1 of escalation brings relevant changes in the use of public and private transport to all those provinces, islands or sanitary zones that are in this situation. Families will be able to travel in full in their vehicles without the need to wear a mask.

PARTICULAR CARS

Families or people living at the same address can occupy all the seats of a vehicle without the need to use the masks. Well, it is understood that when living together there is no danger of contagion.

This changes when you want to move or share a vehicle with other friends or family outside the home. In this case the norm is that two people travel for each row of seats. In the case of a tourism it would be four people. Here yes the use of the mask for all its occupants is mandatory and it is urged to respect as far as possible the safety distance. That is, each person should be glued to their window.

MOTORCYCLES

Two people may travel on motorcycles, mopeds and L-category vehicles in general that have two seats "as long as they either wear a full face helmet with a visor, wear a mask or reside at the same address". To use the services of renting or sharing motorcycles, the obligation for the passenger and the driver to use gloves is specified. Protective gloves for motorists are admitted.

TAXIS OR VTC SERVICE

The norm depends on whether the people taking the taxi live together or not. If they live together, they can travel up to three per row in vehicles with up to nine seats. If they are not, then the limitation will be two people per row. The rule requires that you always leave the driver's row free, which is exclusive to him. So it will be necessary to calculate before ordering this service. In short: in a regular taxi, two people if they do not live together and three people if they share a home. In public transport the mask is mandatory.

METRO OR SURROUNDINGS

Special emphasis must be placed on respecting the safety distance. Half of the seated seats must be vacated and only two travelers are allowed for each square meter in the area enabled to travel standing. The mask is mandatory.

BUS AND TRAIN LINES

All occupants must be seated and there must be an adjoining empty seat that separates passengers from each other in the different rows. If people who live together travel, they may occupy adjoining seats. In any case, the buses will always keep the row after the seat occupied by the driver empty.

HEAVY VEHICLES

In vehicles in which, due to their technical characteristics, only one row of seats is available, as in the case of cabins for heavy vehicles or vans, a maximum of two people may travel, provided that their occupants wear masks and keep the maximum possible distance. Otherwise, only the driver may travel.
