Hundreds of Iraqis demonstrated in the center of the capital, Baghdad, yesterday, calling for reform and holding those responsible for killing the demonstrators accountable.

The Tahrir Square and Al-Gomhoria Bridge in central Baghdad witnessed a gathering of hundreds of protesters who demanded reform, and those who caused the killing of demonstrators should be held accountable for the protests witnessed in Baghdad and nine Iraqi cities since the beginning of last October.

The governorates of Dhi Qar, Wasit, and Muthanna witnessed, yesterday, demonstrations accompanied by violence after a hiatus of more than two months after the outbreak of the Corona virus in the country.

These protests come two days after the formation of the new Iraqi government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi, who announced the day before yesterday that he had decided to release the demonstrators and set up a fact-finding committee in the events that took place since the start of the demonstrations, holding the minors accountable, compensating the families of the dead and caring for the injured.

On the other hand, the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq directed the Iraqi courts yesterday to release the detainees from the demonstrators in the country.

A statement of the media center of the Supreme Judicial Council said that it was in line with the Prime Minister's call to direct "all the courts that are presenting cases related to the demonstrators to release them."
