Guest of the midday newspaper on Europe 1, the president of the Confederation of French merchants (CDF) returned to the reopening of businesses as part of the deconfinement. If he considers that the traders "are ready", he calls on the consumers to go to the shops while respecting the wearing of the mask.

INTERVIEW

"We want to resume". "Proximity and social ties"

"Independent shops are proximity and social ties", reminds Francis Palombi at the microphone of Europe 1, who also pleads for the "essential" reopening of the markets.

For the reopening of their establishments, traders will have to apply strict sanitary rules. An achievable objective according to Francis Palombi, who explains that the CDF also put on sale masks "with all our federations and our members".

"When you leave home, you should have your mask"

But Francis Palombi warns. To the question "will it be necessary to return with a mask to the shops?", He answers "Yes, categorically". "When you leave home, you should have your mask on," says the boss of the Confederation of French Traders.

Certainly, "the obligation of consumers to wear a mask in stores is not dictated", he reminds, but Francis Palombi also says that the masks ordered by companies will go in priority to employees of stores. "The merchants have equipped their staff. There is a foolproof professional conscience of business leaders for their employees".

"Masks available to customers", in some shops

Nevertheless, Francis Palombi reassures: in many businesses, "there will be masks available to customers when, unfortunately, they will not have them on them", who concludes by indicating that register "mandatory mask" on the window of his shop "was at the merchant's discretion".
