INTERVIEW

How is the recovery of public transport in Île-de-France going to take place? While all the departments of the region are classified "red" on the deconfinement map and the fear of a resumption of the coronavirus epidemic is real, the RER and metro systems will run partly on Monday. Guest of the  Grand Rendez-vous on Europe 1, Valérie Pécresse, president of the Île-de-France region, explained on Sunday that the organization of public transport would be a "huge challenge".

"Given the epidemic that continues to do its work in Île-de-France, the government has chosen maximum constraints", recalled Valérie Pécresse on the eve of deconfinement, citing masks and social distancing. "It means sticking to one another," she said, explaining that the situation requires a transport occupancy rate of 15% Concretely, there will be "no more than 180 people instead of 700 "in each metro, warns the president of the Île-de-France region, and therefore calls on Ile-de-France residents to continue teleworking.

These measures will be accompanied by controls, but "only a refusal to wear a mask will be verbalized," says Valérie Pécresse. "On the mask you have to verbalize and you have to verbalize tomorrow".
