The International Monetary Fund and the governor of the IMF have already suggested the possibility to further lower their pessimistic global economic growth forecasts.

According to Reuters, IMF governor Georgieba attended an online event hosted by the European University Research Institute, indicating that many countries' recent economic activity indicators are lower than the 2020 global economic growth forecast of 3% reverse growth estimates.

"Unfortunately, if there is no medicinal solution, a more negative scenario may be realized in some countries," said Georgieba.

In April, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) proposed a global economic growth forecast of 3% this year, the sharpest descent since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

At that time, the IMF predicted that there would be a partial rebound in global economic growth in 2021, but warned that the situation could be even worse following the corona19 global pandemic.
