Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo is preparing to experience "chaos" on the circuit and "adrenaline" during the resumption of the Formula 1 season, he said on BBC Five radio on Saturday.

"(There will be) a form of chaos, hopefully in a controlled manner," predicted the Renault driver.

Ricciardo, confined to his farm near Perth, in Western Australia, evokes a spectacular start to the season, probably on July 5 in Spielberg, Austria.

"We're all going to be a bit rusty, it's going to be a mixture of emotions, pleasure, motivation," he suggested.

For N.1 of the French team, "everyone will be ready to leave (...) You will have people who are good at this level of adrenaline and others who will be less."

Suddenly, he anticipates "daring overruns, but also errors of assessment". "We are going to see a bit of everything, I am sure," he continued.

The new coronavirus pandemic has already led to the cancellation or postponement of ten races of what was to be a championship of 22 events.

Officials from the FIA, the world’s governing body for motorsport, hope to kick off the season behind closed doors in Spielberg on July 5.

Even if Ricciardo has not driven on a race track for several months, he thinks that his experience of eight complete seasons of F1 Grand Prix will put him in good condition to manage the resumption of the 2020 campaign.

It will be more difficult for "beginners, those in its first or second year," predicts the 30-year-old Australian.
