A number of coordination formats for the October demonstrations in Baghdad and a number of central and southern governorates calling for political and economic reform demonstrators called for demonstrations tomorrow, Sunday, as an expression of its rejection of the government formation that the Iraqi parliament gave confidence two days ago.

The coordination called on the demonstrators to go out and gather in the demonstration fields, whether in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad or in other cities during daylight hours, as the authorities allow citizens to move and roam during the day only, as part of the measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

It is noteworthy that the Tahrir Square in Baghdad and other fields of protest in a number of Iraqi cities have been witnessing a clear calm for nearly two months, with the authorities implementing a curfew due to the Corona pandemic.

The calm remained in place despite the easing of restrictions and the blanket ban being replaced by the partial ban that allowed citizens to move during the day only.

The revolutionaries of Wasit Governorate (south of Baghdad) had hoped for a statement by the Iraqi authorities until tomorrow to implement several demands, including the dismissal of the governor and his deputies, and the handing of the governorate administration to the judiciary in cooperation with the security forces.

The sheikhs of the tribes of Wasit governorate from the city of Kut Square in the city announced in a video clip of their support for the demands of the revolutionaries, and support the protesters in their deadline and legitimate demands, they said.

Iraqi activists, by tagging "# the people who want to overthrow the regime," expressed their anger at what they described as the disavowal of political forces from the implementation of popular demands, and the continuation of their previous approach, the same reasons that sparked the mass anger last October.

Today's government meeting , the new Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, met for the first time with members of his government formation, and announced a set of decisions, among them the pursuit of external and internal funding to bridge the budget deficit.

The government also decided to amend the Law on Parties to regulate the legal status of its work on national bases.
