China News Service, May 8 (Xinhua) According to Reuters, citing official Iranian media reports, the 5.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the early hours of local time in Iran on the 8th has caused 2 deaths and 22 injuries.

  According to reports, Iranian officials stated that the two deceased were a man and a woman, one of whom was a 21-year-old woman from Tehran with heart failure; the other 60-year-old man from Damavand died of a head injury. The authorities also stated that there were several aftershocks after the first earthquake, but these aftershocks did not cause serious damage.

  In the early hours of May 8, local time, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The epicenter was in the Damawande region, 6 kilometers northeast of Tehran, with a focal depth of 7 kilometers. When the earthquake occurred, the capital Tehran City and nearby cities felt tremors.
