In a control of samples from the Biltema business chain, dangerous substances have been found in several goods. The company has already received a marketing ban for a digital timer and an egg boiler with too high lead levels, and in the latest inspection, a popcorn machine also has levels of the chemical substance phthalate and a short-chain chlorine paraffin above the limit values ​​in the electric cable, according to the Swedish Chemicals Agency. 

The phthalate is considered to be endocrine disruptor and the short-chain chloro paraffin can be carcinogenic, according to the press release, and the Chemicals Inspectorate is demanding sales figures for the goods concerned.
