Manchester City English international Kyle Walker, caught for the second time in the act of breaching confinement established to fight the coronavirus pandemic, defended himself Friday by criticizing the press which, according to him, harasses him.

"I have been through one of the most difficult times in my life lately, and I take full responsibility for it," the City defender wrote on his Twitter account.

"However, I now have the feeling of being harassed. It affects not only me, but also the health of my family and my young children," he said.

Walker, 29, said he visited his parents and sister in Sheffield in the north of England because they hadn't seen them for a long time.

"Compared to what happened on Wednesday, I went to Sheffield to give my sister a card and a gift for her birthday, but also to speak to one of the rare people in whom I fully trust. She took me in her arms to show me that I mattered for her and that she loved me. What should I have done? Push her away? " he wrote.

"Then I went to see my parents at their house to have some prepared meals. It was such a difficult time for them," said Parker, who criticized the British press that he accused of "following him everywhere".

In early April, Walker, 29, had to apologize for failing to comply with the confinement rules. According to the press, he invited two prostitutes and a friend to his home, a few days before advocating respect for confinement, imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
