Operation Rimfrost began in November last year. The nationwide operation targets serious crime dealing with firearms and explosives.

After six months with Rimfrost, the Öst police region, which consists of Sörmland, Jönköping and Östergötland counties, has produced statistics showing what the operation has led to in the region.

- We have managed to disturb the criminals in the region. Among other things, we have prevented 52 weapons from being used by seizing them. In addition to efforts in our own region, we have also sent reinforcements to Malmö and Uppsala, where Rimfrost has had the most intensive operations, says Fredrik Lindfors, Deputy Head of Commanding at Rimfrost in the East region in an article on the police website.

Serious crimes have led to imprisonment

In addition to several seizures, several people have been arrested, arrested, detained and sentenced. According to police, Operation Rimfrost in the East region, until the fourth of May this year, has resulted in nearly 19 years in prison being sentenced for crimes involving murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, blackmail, drugs, weapons and fraud.
