This is the second time in a short time that Nysäter Wind will be able to defend abuse against the environment in Viksjö. The last time was when the county administrative board discovered several suspected environmental offenses in the park last fall and found that Nysäter Wind did not seem to have control over their own project.

At that time, it led to six police reports for suspected violations of the environmental permit and a construction stop that Nysäter Wind himself initiated.

Several suspected environmental crimes

Now it has happened again.

During an inspection in April, new suspected environmental violations were discovered in the 52 square kilometer large wind farm. This concerns unauthorized blasting, storage of land masses and a road construction that has no permit, but which was nevertheless built on orders by the total contractor Nordex, states the county administrative board.

Furthermore, the county administrative board has found that a large number of road drums that have just been laid down in the newly built roads in the park do not meet the standards. These are serious deficiencies, writes the county administrative board. The drums are under-dimensioned and are consistently too high.

"We'll go to the bottom of this"

Last time, the developer Nysäter Wind explained that you would review your routines. Now the company writes:

- There are, of course, procedures for how the project will work within the framework of the environmental permit obtained, but for some reason they have failed in this case. We take a very serious look at what has happened and we have asked Nordex, who is responsible for the work on site, to get to the bottom with what may have gone wrong and why. This must not be repeated.

SVT: Is work in the park forced to recapture lost time?

- No. We work safely and according to the laws, rules and permits obtained, otherwise we do not work at all. The work is not accelerated but is progressing, according to the plan. No natural values should be affected. It has been emphasized for all actors involved and is a vital part of the assignment for such large projects, the company writes in its response.
