The protagonist of the documentary YouTube series "# ABC Victory: From Brest to the Reichstag" - local historian Leonid Ignatenko. He repeated the path of the Soviet army in 1945.

The film was created as part of the digital special project RT # Victory Pages, which talks about the Great Patriotic War on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, VKontakte and YouTube.

On Twitter, the project team is reconstructing the events of 1945 - dozens of historical characters “in real time” publish messages about the last months of the war.

RT creates “Infinite Letter” on Instagram - young artists from the School of Design of the RANEPA painted hundreds of illustrations for lines from front-line letters. The authors of the project offer to join the action and publish their illustration.

On VK social network, RT creative producer Anna Fedorova discusses the heritage of the Great Patriotic War with guests. The author’s podcast # Sound of Victory is among the New and Interesting recommendations on the Apple Podcasts home page in Russia.

RT also recreated the moment of the historical photograph “The Banner of Victory over the Reichstag”. For reconstruction, we used all available photographs taken by the Soviet war correspondent Yevgeny Chaldey on the roof of the parliament, as well as more than 40 other photographs of the building and the surrounding houses.

RT talks about the 75th anniversary of Victory in six languages - Russian, English, Spanish, German, French and Arabic - on the air and online. On May 9, viewers will see reports from Red Square, as well as programs and documentaries about the war.

RT in Spanish will illuminate the stories of war veterans from Latin America and Spain. RT in Arabic will present a series of commercials about major battles, major military leaders and hero cities. RT France will show interviews with French veterans and historians, authors of books about World War II.

RT Deutsch will tell the story of veteran Vladimir Varenik, who reached Berlin in 1945, but could not leave the inscription on the walls of the Reichstag. In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, RT organized an online meeting of the veteran with the German parliamentarian, who invited him to transmit this inscription 75 years later. A few days after the interview, Varenik died.

His message is now stored in a prominent place in the office of the German deputy in the Bundestag building: “Planet Earth is our common home. And we are neighbors in this house, near and far. And it's time for us to live in it as a neighbor. "

A series of materials prepared and video agency Ruptly.

Earlier, RT launched the international project #Post-Victory, in which he told the stories of World War II veterans and invited viewers from different countries to send them letters. As part of the action, several hundred messages were received from Russia, Belarus, Germany, the USA, China and other countries.
