A few weeks ago Raphael was asked how he was handling the confinement, and he said he was handling it well, with encouragement. The peak of the health alert caught him being in America and he quickly wanted to return and locked himself in his house in Madrid. He assured that he talks a lot with Natalia Figueroa, his wife, with whom he has shared space and life for decades, and that this kept him focused, while they discussed the news in detail and fascination with the good work of many public servants.
For Raphael, who has always been an artist who, as Chiquito de la Calzada would say, "moves more than prices", being locked up must be difficult, even having recently turned 77. But he also knows how to be in his place with integrity. Nothing stopped Raphael even after the liver transplant that saved his life in 2003: the one that he could, and making the most of the margin granted by the doctors for his recovery, was already getting on a stage to empty his guts in a three-hour recital and singing like a beast. So two months of confinement should not be easy for him. But not impossible either, because he doesn't know that word.

Going to a Raphael concert is an epic experience, even today, because he continues to bring drama, charisma and overflowing enthusiasm, and because the audience passionately celebrates every last arm-high wrist movement, as if loosening a light bulb.
He said about his confinement that he has been surprised at how good and obedient he has been, but it should not be surprising because an incomparable quality of Raphael is discipline, perseverance, the perfection of what he does, be it singing or staying at home. It will be hard for him not to see his eight grandchildren or his three children, but he has his wife, who has been his lifelong supporter, since they were married in 1972. He has continued to work and contact his record label and your recruitment agency, preparing projects - maybe also your golden anniversary? -, leaning on the phone, the videoconferences or the silly time frames that sometimes remain throughout the day and that, if they are used wisely, in the end they will flow, and you are ready to leave and return in style. What is clear is that there will continue to be demand for Raphael, one of the safest values of the show in Spain. For that, it will be necessary to return to normality, but he already sees the light at the end of the tunnel and is hungry for the stage.
