What is happening to the overseas Chinese in all countries as the new pneumonia epidemic spreads all over the world? China Overseas Chinese Network (ID: qiaowangzhongguo) specially launched a series of "Overseas Stays" series of manuscripts, telling the story of the "war epidemic" left by overseas Chinese. In this issue, Wang Jing in Italy tells us his left-behind story.

  On the first day of the first lunar month, I invite friends and family to celebrate the New Year at the New Jubin Hotel in Florence, Italy. Everyone exchanges greetings with each other in the New Year, hoping for a new year and a new beginning.

  But no one expected that this New Year's dinner has become the only dinner for everyone in the past six months.

  On January 29th, Italy found a confirmed case of new coronary pneumonia. On January 31st, Italy declared a state of emergency.

  While overseas Chinese from all over Italy raised anti-epidemic materials, they helped those who returned to Italy from China without isolation.

  After the outbreak, the overseas Chinese living in Florence sang a song, which was translated into Chinese by an overseas Chinese in Florence, expressing the determination of all overseas Chinese to unite to fight the epidemic. (Video: provided by the author)

  After the first confirmed case of new coronary pneumonia appeared in Florence, the Chinese here lived in panic every day. Sometimes when your throat is uncomfortable, you will worry if you are infected with the virus.

  Under such circumstances, the batches of medical teams and materials sent by the ancestral (country of origin) countries have given us the "Dingxin Pill" to care for overseas Chinese:

  On the evening of March 12, a nine-member team of anti-epidemic medical experts, jointly organized by the National Health Commission and the Chinese Red Cross, arrived in Rome and carried some medical supplies donated by China;

  On March 18, China's second batch of medical experts departed from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Milan, Italy. Bring along a batch of medical treatment items donated by Zhejiang Province and badly needed by the local government, as well as a batch of protective materials and commonly used drugs, totaling 9 tons ...

  In order to assist the local Italian epidemic prevention, many overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese groups also took action:

  On March 31, the overseas Chinese delegation in Florence, on behalf of all Chinese overseas Chinese in Florence, donated anti-epidemic materials to the local provincial and municipal governments in the Chinese community in Florence;

  On April 18th, the Florentine community once again donated 70,000 disposable medical masks and 10,000 N95 medical masks to the city of Florence on behalf of all overseas Chinese in Florence, and handed over to the relevant departments of the city of Florence to issue ...

  We stay in Italy because Italy is our second hometown. We have worked and lived here for so many years. Career, family and friends are here. We look forward to helping each other and hope that all this will pass as soon as possible.
