The president of Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas announced Thursday to have launched two legal actions after the end of the Ligue 1 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We were very hesitant to do so. The board of directors of OL Groupe made the decision this morning (Thursday) to file two appeals," he said on L'Equipe.

"Money is not the main concern of OL. We have made sure to request a possible resumption of activity. The decision of the Minister of Sports is based on a date of August 3 which does not exist We can examine in detail with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health the health protocol validated by all European countries and see if there is a possibility of resumption, "said the boss of the Olympic lyonnais.

"The second appeal relates to the modalities for stopping the championship and the method of calculating the classification (after the 28th day)", he added.

OL are ranked 7th in the championship and may not participate in a European cup next season unless they win the League cup for which they have to play the final against PSG, or even win the Ligue des Champions (Lyon won their first round of 16 against Juventus, the return could be disputed on August 8).

"French football is not sure to recover from this premature stop," said Jean-Michel Aulas. "Because nothing deserves that we take such a decision".
