One of the victims at Berga's retirement home is 83-year-old Jan, who died in the suites of covid-19 just over two weeks ago. Jan's daughter Helén Glückman has many times previously praised the staff's efforts at Berga when the corona began to take a grip on the accommodation. Now she reacts strongly to the testimony of the staff. - We lived in the belief that they had the conditions they should have, she says.
According to SVT sources, at least 35 of the more than 90 people enrolled in Berga's elderly housing must have died in covid-19.
When the corona crisis broke out, Hélen Glückman found it difficult to get information from the accommodation and neither she nor her family knew anything about what the staff's work situation looked like.
"It must have been terrible for the staff," she says.
