Torino, a rival Turin club to Juventus, announced on Wednesday that one of its players tested positive for Covid-19, without specifying their name, as Serie A teams are back in individual training.

"During the first medical tests carried out on Torino FC players, a positivity in Covid-19 appeared," said the club from northern Italy, 15th in the standings at the suspension of the championship on March 10.

"The football player, who is currently asymptomatic, has been immediately placed in quarantine and will be constantly followed up," said Torino, one of the Italian clubs to have expressed concerns about a resumption of the championship in the current health context in Italy, where nearly 30,000 people died from the coronavirus.

The president of Torino Urbano Cairo acknowledged this week that there were "divergent opinions", even if, officially, the twenty Serie A teams support the desire to end the current season.

Italian Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora however warned on Wednesday that it was "impossible to fix a date" for a resumption of the championship.
