China yesterday condemned the statements of the United States about the new Corona virus, describing it as "false", after criticism by US President Donald Trump to Beijing, saying that it should have stopped the outbreak of the "Covid-19" epidemic.

China said that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was continuing to lie in the context of his ongoing attack on Beijing in connection with the Corona virus pandemic.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chun Ying reiterated that Beijing was transparent about the outbreak of the virus that appeared in China last year and that American politicians were making baseless accusations against her country.

Meanwhile, China said yesterday that it supports the efforts of the World Health Organization to investigate the origin of the Covid-19 pandemic, and opposes attempts by the United States and some other countries to politicize the issue and attack Beijing.

In response to a question about US President Donald Trump's statements in which the epidemic likened the attack to Pearl Harbor and the September 11 attacks, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said that the enemy the United States faces is the Coronavirus, not China.

In connection with the World Health Organization is studying to send a new mission to China in an effort to determine the origin of the new Corona virus, amid growing controversy over the source of the pandemic that caused the death of more than 250 thousand people.

"Without knowing where the animal came from, it will be difficult to prevent (the outbreak) from happening again," Bloomberg News quoted WHO epidemiologist Maria Van Kerkhof at a press conference.

"There are discussions taking place with our counterparts in China to send another mission that will be more academic in focus, and really focus on looking at what happened in the beginning with regard to exposure to different animals," she added.

Van Kerkhof participated in a previous mission to China in February and concluded that the virus was of animal origin. A report stated that bats appeared to be carriers of the virus, but that no intermediary host was identified.

Beijing supports the WHO, and opposes Washington and others trying to politicize "Covid-19".
