A group of scientists said that promises made here there about the possibility of some companies or laboratories providing vaccines or drug drugs to treat the "emerging corona virus" by the fall are unrealistic and a fantasy.

Adviser to US President Donald Trump and a team member of the Corona Virus Control Committee at the White House, Dr. Anthony Fauchi, have said more than once that the vaccine will be available only after at least 12 to 18 months.

Major research institutions such as the University of Oxford in Britain said that vaccines could be available in September, while the United States is counting on the remedies produced by Gilliad Sciences.

Scientists note that even if vaccines are developed, the initial production quantities are likely to be allocated to health care workers to ensure that they continue to be able to cope with other outbreaks of the disease, according to a report published by statnews that covers medical news.

The director of the Center for Infectious Diseases Research at the University of Minnesota, Michael Osterholm, said he is concerned about other waves of spread of the virus and that if a vaccine is not available then this will mean larger numbers than the current wave.

He added that even if the vaccine was developed according to the time frames that companies promise, its quantities will not be sufficient to immunize people by the fall.

Emilio Emini, who leads the efforts at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to find a vaccine for Corona, said that the manufacturing issue was not easy even if the vaccine was developed, indicating that not all vaccines or drugs are capable of being produced in the same level and quantities.

He stated that if some preventive vaccines are proven to be successful, they can be manufactured in existing factories now, but to reach millions of doses it may need a year of production.

Philip Dormitzer, executive vice president of Pfizer, said that a collaboration with a specialized laboratory is currently being produced to produce four possible vaccines as clinical trials will begin this week, and that the company will produce millions of them by 2021 if proven effective.

The World Health Organization says it is monitoring more than 100 projects rushing to find a cure for Corona, noting that equitable sharing among all countries of vaccines must be achieved as Covid-19.

Fears have grown by some companies that they will face nationalization and come under state control in order to ensure that sufficient vaccines are produced to meet local needs.
