Joggers, police, homeless, taxi drivers, lovers of tranquility - or just lovers. Once night falls, it is the ghostly characters who roam the almost empty streets of the City of Lights during confinement.

During a long dreamlike stroll, France 24 reporters Marie Schuster and Armelle Caux filmed the main streets and emblematic places of the French capital, deserted after 10 p.m. From the Trocadéro esplanade, you can thus see the message "Stay at home" which scrolls over the Eiffel Tower.

Cafes, shops and concert halls have been closed since March 17 by order of the authorities. Abnormal silence on the avenue des Champs-Élysées, no Saturday night fever in Bastille. The vast majority of the population stays at home for fear of the coronavirus.

But, among the night owls encountered by our reporters, some seem already nostalgic for the special atmosphere of confined nights.
