“I vetoed the resolution, which set the task to order me to stop using the US Armed Forces in military operations against Iran,” TASS quoted a statement by the American president, circulated by the White House press service.
Trump called the resolution “offensive” and stated that it was introduced by the Democrats in order to split the Republican Party.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington does not believe in the peaceful nature of Iran’s space program.
