- I'm almost sure it's going to get rid of. We do not depend on gathering any large crowds, we do not sell tickets and we have the financing ready, says project manager Albin Wiberg.

Västervik Street Art Festival 2020 is thus planned to be held. And thus, it will be one of the few cultural events that can still be implemented despite covid-19.

Moving out of the urban area

This year the festival has been moved to nine different locations in the northern parts of Västervik.

- There will be no large crowds just during the festival, but people will be able to visit the festival year-round, says project manager Albin Wiberg.

Västervik municipality together with donors has secured financing and all permits with the property owners are clear. On June 16, the final decision will be made whether or not the festival will be possible. The big challenge for the organizer lies in whether the artists manage to travel here in August. But Albin Wiberg is optimistic.

- If the festival did not get rid of this year then we have everything prepared for next year, he says.
