A Yemeni government source confirmed the arrival of reinforcements across the sea for the UAE-backed rebels on Socotra Island in preparation for a new attack, and Yemeni Minister of Interior Ahmed Al-Misri considered Saudi Arabia’s silence to be interpreted as collusion.

The source said to the island that the local authority monitored movements on the northern coast of Socotra, and the arrival of three tankers for individuals from outside the governorate by sea, as they joined the rebels in the 1st Marine Corps, who recently announced joining the southern transitional council supported by the Emirates.

The source stressed that the groups of "mercenaries of the Emirates" of the Transitional Council are flocking to the headquarters of the brigade in preparation for another attempt to attack the city of Hadibu, the center of the province.

Local sources had told the island that government forces in Socotra had managed to drive out militants affiliated with the Transitional Council from the headquarters of the local authority after storming it and raising the flag of the former South Yemen state on the main gate.

Socotra Governor Ramzi Mahrous said that Socotra will only be with the legitimacy of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and that it will not be dragged into the square of violence that those elements that are accustomed to "treachery and treachery" want for it, indicating that the official authorities can regain control of the building and remove the intruders.

Collusion
In exclusive statements to the island, the Yemeni Minister of the Interior said that the guarantor of the Riyadh agreement is Saudi Arabia, which is responsible for identifying the idle party, considering that Riyadh's silence on the transitional council in Socotra and Aden is collusion, and that it must change its position and choose between standing next to the will of the Yemeni people And the legitimate government or with the UAE and its approach.

Al-Missari, who is also the Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister, held the UAE and the coalition responsible for the bloodshed and the state of division and fighting in Socotra, and described the members of the Southern Transitional Council as employees of the self-management project that is being run from Abu Dhabi, he said.

Al-Misiri called on the Yemeni president to take the decision to enter the army in Aden, and to choose a non-hostile national government such as the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council, as he put it.

It is worth noting that the transitional council announced on Saturday, April 25 last year, what it called "autonomy of the south" from Aden, which the Yemeni government considers a second coup against it after the August coup.
