Up in the mountains, Skanska has started the wind turbine again, but excavators and caterpillars are still waiting for new assignments at a stand in Västanå.

Alarmed last winter

There, at the stand, the losers are found in the dispute over the money in Viksjö. While the legal disputes have started on several levels, some 30 subcontractors still have at least 60 million claims on both companies, Active Works and the Sollefteå company NLC, which offered them jobs in Viksjö. One of the first to sound an alarm last winter was Andreas Widlund from Nora.

The concern, then, that the payments would be true, came true.

Now, many people have turned up a new job for a rock crusher south of Stockholm. This week the moving class, three trailers and a truck went south. Just moving from Viksjö costs SEK 200,000, he says.

- Viksjö has been mentioned throughout the country, people want to know if we got paid for the job of course but they have also asked if we could think of staying, but no. Now I'm done with Viksjö, he says.

scapegoats

He now hopes that all parties involved will get a proper idea of what went wrong. He himself is not ready to point out either one or the other as a scapegoat. Nordex, turned out to be more inexperienced as a company than expected and the same goes for the main contractor's Active Works.

- It was a pity it would go so badly. It might have been a good project, but now many smaller subcontractors are instead in financial trouble, he says.

It is also gossiping about the stand in Västanå. There are large construction machinery waiting for the new jobs that in the construction industry usually dive during the spring. Some are brand new and purchased for the job in Viksjö. A brand new excavator has started to collect rust and should only have been warm for a few hours during the months in Viksjö, we know.

Insecure money

Those who leave Viksjö with the cancellation of Active Works from the project can now look forward to a long wait for notification if they get their invoices paid. Active Works and NLC are under reconstruction threatened by bankruptcy for very large debts to the subcontractors in Viksjö. At best, it can be a chord of 25 percent.

At the same time, an arbitration process awaits between Active Works and Nordex.

In short, if there is any money left over to the small subcontractors, it is very uncertain.
