A German journalist filed a complaint in March against Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, according to "Le Monde" and the "Süddeutsche Zeitung". The facts date back to December 18, 2018. After an interview, the former French president allegedly repeatedly touched the complainant's buttocks.

Valéry Giscard d'Estaing is the subject of a sexual assault complaint. This is what Le Monde and the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung reveal on Wednesday evening . The complainant is a 37-year-old Teutonic journalist, Ann-Kathrin Stracke. In her complaint, filed on March 10 with the Paris public prosecutor's office, which the two media have consulted, she affirms that the former French president repeatedly put her hand on her buttocks.

The facts date back to December 18, 2018, when Ann-Kathrin Stracke came to interview Valéry Giscard d'Estaing in his office in Paris. After their interview, the journalist said she had asked the former president for a photo, along with his cameraman and sound engineer. But the politician would then have taken the opportunity to put his hand on his buttocks. "Very surprised and disapproving of these attacks which made me extremely uncomfortable, I tried to push the hand of Mr. Giscard d'Estaing, without however succeeding," she declared to the forces of l 'order, according to Le Monde

"VGE" keeps "no memory" of his meeting with the journalist

The journalist then declares that Valéry Giscard d'Estaing touched her waist and buttocks again during a second photo, then taking the pretext of showing her photographs hanging on the wall. It did not stop, she said, when his cameraman knocked down a lampshade to divert his attention.

Also according to Le Monde , the WDR, the channel that employs Ann-Kathrin Stracke, sent a letter to "VGE" after the journalist told what had happened to her. The former president's office then simply acknowledged receipt. Today, his chief of staff, Olivier Revol, says in the evening newspaper that the nonagenarian has "no memory" of his interview with the journalist. "If what he is accused of is true, he would of course be sorry, but he does not remember anything," he added.
