The director of the Department of Infiltrators at the General Police Investigations and Criminal Investigation Department, Colonel Ali Salem, revealed that 102 beggars of various nationalities were arrested, as part of the "fight begging" campaign launched by the Dubai Police General Command at the beginning of Ramadan.

He said that the General Administration of Criminal Investigations and Investigations has developed an integrated security plan to combat begging, in cooperation with partners, and intensify patrols in places expected to be beggars, pointing out that begging is related to negative behaviors that threaten the security of society and the lives and property of its members, and harm the image of the state and distort its cultural appearance, As a result of the risks associated with it, including committing some crimes such as theft, exploiting children, patients and people with disabilities to beg, and achieving illegal gains.

He called for not responding to begging beggars, or dealing with them with feelings of compassion and kindness, and to help the police services to immediately report any person who practices this behavior.

He warned community members not to fall victim to electronic messages of sympathy that beggars send through social media and e-mail, and include fabricated accounts, demanding that they be ignored and not be led or believed, and reported on.
