The pharmaceutical company Pfizer has announced that it has started testing new vaccine coronavirus (CVV) vaccines caused by a number of volunteers. In Africa, an alleged herbal remedy is in demand from some countries, although the World Health Organization confirmed that there is no evidence that these substances prevent or cure the disease.

On Tuesday, the American pharmaceutical giant Pfizer announced that it had started testing the new Corona virus vaccines on a number of volunteers in the United States.

This came in a statement issued by the American company, which is working in this regard with the German biotechnology company "Biontech" to present their potential vaccine, called "BNT162" within months, according to the Anatolia Agency.

The German company mentioned therein is a founding member of Turkish origin, Professor Ugur Shaheen.

Trials
Pfizer has stated that if the vaccine proves to be safe and effective in the trials, it is likely that it will be ready for wide distribution in the United States by the end of the year, reducing the usual number of years in the development schedule for any vaccine.

Clinical trials had already started on volunteers in Germany last week, but they started in the United States on Americans Tuesday.

According to the Chairman and CEO of Pfizer Albert Bürla, the first participants in the first phase are healthy adults, between the ages of 18 and 55, before moving to older groups ranging from 65 to 85 years at a later stage.

The company indicated that it hopes to test the vaccine for up to 360 people.
"The short timeframe - which is less than four months - enables us to move from preclinical studies to human tests, and this is exceptional," Burla added.

The American company invested five hundred million dollars in research related to a drug or drug against the new disease, along with another 150 million dollars to equip its manufacturing capabilities so that it can quickly produce large quantities of antivirals, including the vaccine, if it can pass the tests.

Alleged drug
In Africa, there is controversy over a drug that its supporters claim is a "miracle drink" for the treatment of corona, as Madagascar recently announced it, and claimed it was useful in tackling the Coronavirus.

Madagascar sent a quantity of the herbal "alleged medicine" - which it dubbed "Covid Organics" - to Niger, as a grant to this country, which is one of the poorest countries in the world, according to the "Negeratco" news site on Tuesday.

The Director of the Ministry of Public Health in Niger, Anar Zakara Ismael, said in statements that the "medicine" sent is sufficient to treat 900 people.

The total cases of corona in Niger reached 763 cases, including 182 active cases, 38 deaths and 543 recoverers.

Niger is the seventh African country to request this "alleged herbal medicine" from Madagascar, after Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Tanzania and Comoros.

It is noteworthy that the Institute of Applied Research in Madagascar announced the development of a "medicine" extracted from the wormwood that is used in the treatment of malaria, and from other plants, and this drug was called "Covid Organics", in reference to its confrontation with the "Covid-19" virus or Corona.

The President of Madagascar Andre Rajoelina previously described this herbal tea as a "miracle drink", urged his citizens to drink it, and confirmed that it would give its effective effect within seven days.

For its part, the World Health Organization confirms that there is no evidence that herbal substances or folk remedies prevent or cure Corona.
