“If we were to print reserve currencies, we could“ scatter money from a helicopter, ”spend trillions of rubles. But the task is not to compete, who will spend the most, but to help those who first of all need support, ”the minister emphasized.

He noted that, first of all, it is necessary to help businesses save jobs, as well as help citizens pay for food, housing and loans.

Siluanov recalled that small businesses affected by the pandemic were granted six-month deferrals for taxes, loans and rent payments, as well as interest-free salary loans in the amount of the minimum wage for each employee.

“You say the minimum wage is not enough, but for small enterprises, if you take white salaries, this is 70% of the wage fund, it doesn’t work out that much,” the Finance Minister said.

He also called the main task to help enterprises after leaving a forced vacation.

Earlier, the head of Sberbank German Gref said that in Russia there are no necessary tools for the "distribution" of money to the population, following the example of the United States and Europe.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin expressed the view that the payment of financial assistance on non-working days due to the coronavirus will become an overwhelming measure for regional budgets.
