It was after a report from a private person, who specifically mentioned Orust's municipality but also wrote that it was for more municipalities, that the Ombudsman for Justice, JO, began to look more closely at the issue. The notification came in on April 14, something that Hallandsposten told us about.

- What we have done now is that we have started picking up and creating an investigation basis to see what the municipalities have decided, when it comes to the question of deciding not to provide home service, says Sandra Lundgren, Attorney General of the Ombudsman, JO.

Six West Swedish municipalities

The municipalities in question are Orust, Varberg, Sotenäs, Falkenberg, Laholm and Uddevalla, all municipalities that have made such decisions.

- There is a special provision in the Social Services Act that the residency municipalities have an obligation to provide home service, says Sandra Lundgren.

During the week, JO will decide whether to proceed with further investigative measures.

Recently, it became clear that the decision in Falkenberg is set aside after a court decision, if it affects whether JO will review Falkenberg has not yet been decided.
