05 May 2020It is now official: the Giro d'Italia 2020 will take place from 3 to 25 October next. The UCI, the International Football Federation, has today published the dates for a long list of races so far outstanding, and confirmed the proposal of the organizers of the Corsa Rosa.

The great classics of Italian cycling will be held during the summer: Strade Bianche on the first of August, Milan-Sanremo 8 August, Tirreno-Adriatico 7-14 September. Lombardy will be held a few days after the Giro on 31 October.

No surprise for the Tour de France, already scheduled from 29 August to 20 September, despite the stop to mass events decided by the French government until the end of August, therefore probably with the first days without an audience on the street. From 20 October to 8 November the Vuelta di Spagna.

"The new calendar obeys a logic that offers maximum opportunities for different types of cyclists - says Uci - alternating stage races and one-day races in August, which will allow cyclists to gradually adapt to the rhythm of the competition after three months of limited activity for some; the Tour de France events, UCI Road World Championships, Giro d'Italia, Ardennes and Flanders; and to close the season, the Vuelta ".
